4 years of beachcombing, and I finally found one!

We’ve been walking this beach for four years. Picking up pollution, looking for shells and sea glass, and always hoping to find just one shark tooth.
This week, after a hurricane passed through, we went for a quiet walk along the shore. I almost didn’t go — the sky was still heavy, and honestly, so was I. But something in me knew: the ocean helps. It always does.
The waves had churned everything up. And there it was… Not buried. Not hidden. Just waiting. A perfect shark tooth, lying on top of the sand like it had been placed there on purpose.
I actually gasped when I picked it up, realizing my eyes *hadn’t* played a trick on me and it *wasn’t* just a broken oyster shell.
Four years of searching, and in one strange, beautiful moment, the ocean gifted it to me.
It’s just a tooth, I know that. But it’s also a reminder: nature has it’s own timeline. You can’t rush it — but if you keep showing up, you might be surprised.
PS: For those of you curious, I believe I’ve identified this as from a sand tiger shark. Want to see more ethical shelling finds? Follow us on Instagram!
